14 Day Trip Itinerary

DAY
Arriving in Tokyo

There are two international airports in Tokyo – Narita Airport (NRT) & Haneda Airport (HND). We highly recommend flying to Haneda Airport (HND) if possible. It’s much closer to central Tokyo.

DAY
Explore Tokyo (West Side)

The adventure begins! You have a full day to explore Tokyo or to get over your jet lag if needed. Check out our recommendations of things to do, what to see, and importantly where to eat in Tokyo.

DAY
Explore Tokyo (East Side)

One day is not enough to fully explore Tokyo. We recommend exploring the other side of Tokyo. If you are still feeling exhausted from the flight, you can simply use this day to rest and fully recover. The wedding is awaiting!

DAY
Tokyo to Yamaguchi

The easiest way to get to Yamaguchi where the wedding will be held is to catch a flight from Haneda Airport (HND) to Yamaguchi Ube Airport (UBJ).

After you arrive in Yamaguchi, there will be a pre-party event in the evening. We hope you can join us!

DAY
WEDDING DAY

For those who want to fully explore Yamaguchi, there will be a sightseeing tour in the morning. Unfortunately, we most likely cannot be your tour guide on this adventure (we have lots to prep!) but it’ll be a great way to spend the morning of a beautiful wedding day.

The wedding ceremony starts at 3:30 followed by the wedding reception and an after-party (for those still standing).

DAY
Yamaguchi to Hiroshima

After you check out the hotel, you can make your way to Hiroshima stopping by Kintai Bridge known as Five Bridges.

DAY
Explore Hiroshima

You have a full day to explore Hiroshima. Catch a ferry to the beautiful island Miyajima where you can encounter very well-behaved deer and an iconic shrine in the water – Itsukushima Shrine. There is a Peace Memorial Park in the city.

DAY
Hiroshima to Osaka

You can catch a bullet train to Osaka, the second-largest city in Japan. You can either stay in Osaka to enjoy the nightlife of the city or make your way to Kyoto by local train.

DAY
Explore Kyoto (West Side)

You have a full day to explore Kyoto and feel the zen. There is so much to see! At this point, you must be exhausted from traveling everywhere so enjoy the city’s traditional beauty at your own pace.

DAY
Explore Kyoto (East Side)

November in Kyoto is at its best. You can enjoy autumn leaves anywhere you go. Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature.

DAY
Explore Nara

Most people skip Nara but it is our favorite spot in the Kansai region. It is a quiet beautiful little town where you can encounter super polite bowing deer and the biggest buddha in Japan.

DAY
Nara to Tokyo

You can catch a train back to Kyoto and make your way to Tokyo by bullet train. It takes about 2.5 hours. Make sure you sit on the left side of the train, you might be able to see Mt. Fuji through the window!

*There is Kansai International Airport (KIX) in Osaka. For those who can book a flight out from KIX, that is an option, too.

DAY
Explore Tokyo

You have a full day to enjoy Japan one last time. Anything you want to eat one last time? Anywhere you want to visit you’ve missed? Tick as many boxes as you wish!

DAY
Catch a flight home

You can fly out either Narita Airport (NRT) or Haneda Airport (HND). Once again, we highly recommend Haneda Airport(HND) since it is easy to access from central Tokyo.
